The launch was really successful - thanks to everyone who came! There were about 45 people there (not counting my own family members), so a great turnout - it filled the café. A pretty good turnout as well considering that the year-end show for the visual arts students was the same night, also there was a Mozart Mass, and Richard Wagamese was having his book launch just up the street at exactly the same time.
The Art We Are café provided a nice tray of desserts and tea. What a great place to do a launch - I love the old brick walls and the woodwork, the vintage tables, the high ceilings with the hanging lamps, the great food and tea selection, the art everywhere. The vibe seemed really great and we sold some books (thanks, Max!). Thanks as well to Liz Reimer for her introduction, which made me feel like a rock star, and to Lindsay Curry for managing the sound system so expertly! I read for just 20 minutes - it was hard to pick passages that were short enough to sort of tell a story in that space of time - and then there was HUGE applause. So it felt very successful.
Book signing at Chapters today at 1:30! I'm looking forward to meeting new readers.
